General Information

The Boston Trolley & Transit Meet returns in 2012 to continue the long-standing Boston transit tradition, and this time we're located right on the MBTA's Green Line! Join traction and transit vendors and exhibitors from around New England and the northeast at this always-popular event, presented by the Boston Street Railway Association, Seashore Trolley Museum, Bay State Society of Model Engineers (BSSME), and the Boston Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society.

In 2010, the Meet boasted its largest attendance numbers on record, with nearly 400 attendees of all ages browsing over 25 dealers, exhibitors, and operating layouts—and that was at a suburban location! This year, the Meet is being held in Whitney Hall at the Holiday Inn on Beacon Street in Brookline, MA—across the street from the St. Paul Street stop on the MBTA's Green Line "C" Branch. In addition to workshops, model contests, door prizes, presentations, and displays, the traction-centric location is sure to draw from near and far!

Be sure to view the "About" menu at the top of the page for more details about the Meet.

For Exhibitors

Exhibitors will have the chance to show off their best work and interact with modelers and enthusiasts of all ages. We welcome modelers & layouts focused primarily on traction/trolleys & transit (including rapid transit/buses). Models of all gauges encouraged. (Don't forget about our model contest!) All exhibitors must be set up by 9AM Saturday, and remain so until the 5PM conclusion of the show. See Dealer/Exhibitor Application for further details and guidelines.

For Dealers

Dealers of a wide variety are welcome, including those specializing in models, memorabilia, books, multimedia, and paper. This is a trolley and transit show, which is special and the main attraction for attendees—please ensure that your wares reflect this. All dealers are required to be set up by 9AM Saturday, and remain so until the 5PM conclusion of the show. Please note ALL dealers (anyone who is selling something) MUST have a valid Massachusetts ST-1 Tax Certificate and provide a copy to the Meet. This is a state legal requirement—no exceptions. See Dealer/Exhibitor Application for further details and guidelines.

Venue

The Holiday Inn offers roll-in, roll-out access from its parking facility ($10/day event parking rate; overnight rates also available), and is a fully accessible venue. Box lunches are available from the hotel and must be pre-ordered for $22.80, tax-included (see form on back). The hotel restaurant is open for breakfast until 10:30AM and dinner from 4:30PM. The lounge above Whitney Hall is available for eating your lunch. There are also many dine-in and take-out restaurants nearby (1-3 blocks). The hotel has partnered with us to offer a $169/night rate for show attendees; call 617-277-1200 to book a room. Other nearby or transit-accessible hotels are listed here.
